Forza Horizon 6 Car Mastery Guide
Car Mastery is the upgrade tree tied to individual vehicles in your garage. Invest Skill Points into a car's tree to unlock perks — and for five specific cars, to claim exclusive hidden vehicles that exist nowhere else in the game.
How Car Mastery Works
Every car in your garage has its own separate Mastery tree. Perks are car-specific and do not transfer: points unlocked on one car stay on that car. If you switch to a different vehicle, you start from scratch on that tree.
To access Car Mastery:
What Skill Points unlock:
Skill Points — How They Work
Skill Points come from banking Skill Chains. During free roam or events, chaining drifts, jumps, near misses, and smashed objects builds your combo meter. When you bank the chain (press the button or stop safely), those points convert to Skill Points for the car you are currently driving.
Key numbers:
Skill Points earned on any car can be spent on any car's Mastery tree — they are shared across your garage.
All 5 Hidden Cars
These five cars cannot be bought in the Autoshow, found in Wheelspins, or won through seasonal events. Car Mastery is the only way to unlock them. Each tree costs 64 Skill Points to reach the hidden car node.
| Buy This Car | Cost | Hidden Reward |
|---|---|---|
| 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray | ~65,000 CR | 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 427 |
| 2023 Honda Civic Type R | ~43,000 CR | 1974 Honda Civic RS |
| 1994 Ford Supervan 3 | ~250,000 CR | 2022 Ford Supervan 4 |
| 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder | ~2,300,000 CR | 2003 Porsche Carrera GT |
| 1995 Ferrari F50 | ~4,500,000 CR | 1996 Ferrari F50 GT |
Notes on each unlock:
1967 Corvette Stingray 427 — The best value unlock. The 2020 Stingray is cheap, and the 1967 classic is worth around 135,000 CR. Buy this one first.
1974 Honda Civic RS — The most accessible unlock. The 2023 Civic Type R is only 43,000 CR, making this the lowest barrier entry in the list.
2022 Ford Supervan 4 — Genuinely fun and unlike any other car in the game. The Supervan 3 at 250,000 CR is a reasonable investment.
2003 Porsche Carrera GT — One of the most desirable rewards. The 918 Spyder costs 2.3 million CR, but the Carrera GT is a legendary car unavailable any other way.
1996 Ferrari F50 GT — The rarest unlock. Only three were ever built in real life. The 1995 F50 costs 4.5 million CR — save this for last unless the F50 GT is your top target.
Best Cars for Farming Skill Points
Faster farming = higher Skill Chain multiplier. These cars let you reach 500,000 points (10 Skill Points) in far fewer chain attempts:
1998 Subaru Impreza 22B-STI (~86,000 CR) — The best all-round farming car. It has a 9× Car Mastery multiplier, the highest in the game. With a 9× cap instead of the default 5×, each chain builds much faster. Tune it toward top speed for Speed Skills farming, or use it on EventLab courses.
2021 Mercedes-AMG ONE — Exceeds 200 mph and has a 7× multiplier. If you already own it (FH5 loyalty reward), it is the best speed-focused farming car.
2016 Formula Drift #530 HSV Maloo Gen-F (~150,000 CR) — Builds chains fast through drift scoring. Strong pick if you prefer drift farming over speed.
Fastest Farming Method: EventLab
The quickest way to bank Skill Points is a short EventLab course packed with obstacles and ramps. Drive through, build your chain to 500,000, bank it, and restart. One loop takes under a minute on the best courses.
Recommended EventLab share code: 861 224 889 ("Fastest Max Skill Points") — widely confirmed across multiple community guides.
For AFK farming, search for long-track EventLab routes designed for cars over 200 mph. Loop runs over an hour — use a rubber band or hair band on the throttle trigger and leave the controller connected with a wire to prevent auto-disconnect.
Tips
Unlock Spinball Wizard early. Check each car's Mastery tree for the Spinball Wizard node before spending points elsewhere. It grants a Super Wheelspin — potentially worth millions of credits.
Watch for Skill Songs. The DJ randomly announces a Skill Song during free roam. While it plays, your multiplier cap doubles. Stop farming and focus on building the biggest chain possible during these windows.
Don't let points waste. The chain cap is 500,000. Once you reach it, bank immediately — any extra points in that chain are lost.
Buy multiple Subaru 22Bs. The 22B's own Mastery tree includes a Super Wheelspin reward. Buy one, unlock the tree, collect the Super Wheelspin, sell the car, and repeat. At 86,000 CR per car, this can be efficient if you want Wheelspins.
Focus the second row first. On any new car's Mastery tree, the second row typically contains the best multiplier and XP boosts. Unlock these before pushing to the end of the tree.
Start with the cheap unlocks. If you want all five hidden cars, begin with the Corvette Stingray (65,000 CR) and Civic Type R (43,000 CR) to get two hidden cars with minimal investment, then work up to the Porsche and Ferrari trees.
